A majority of the trainees from the sewing centre on Frotoft estate have been successful in finding employment and further batches were trained in 2006. Awareness programmes on dengue, chickungunya, oral cancer, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases have been conducted on all estates. Programmes on child abuse, prevention of workplace accidents and environmental issues have also been held on several estates.
Immunization programmes against filaria, nematodes & japanese encephalitis too have been carried out regularly.
The programme of re-roofing, construction of water-schemes, latrines, self-help housing and upgrading of crèches continued during the year. Two acres of land on Frotoft Estate were handed over to the Ministry of Health for the construction of a hospital to cater to the needs of the estate as well as the village population, in pursuit of Millenium Development goals.
